We Didn't Build Drone DMC for Us

How a faith-driven decision to walk away from 20 years of corporate success became a business built to serve others, clients, community, and the next generation.

September 11, 2024 wasn't just a date on the calendar. It was the day Drone DMC officially launched. But the real story started long before that in a quiet moment of conviction that had been building for years.

A Career That Cost Too Much

For more than two decades, JeffAnthony Garcia poured himself into the retail sales division of one of the largest manufactured home builders in the United States. By every external measure, he was successful. He had mastered ground-level photography with DSLRs, learned to scan inventory with Matterport, earned his FAA Part 107 certification, flew drones, logged countless hours in editing courses, and managed social media at a level most companies couldn't afford to hire for.

He was good at what he did. Maybe too good.

"I realized it wasn't matching my world view," JeffAnthony says. "I had placed my work above God and my family. I needed a dramatic change in my life to line up with my faith."

The skills were never the problem. The direction was.

The Spark

What lit the fire wasn't a business plan or a market opportunity. It was a pattern he kept noticing. Colleagues and close friends from competing brands were calling him regularly, asking for help with the exact things he had spent years mastering. Photography. Matterport scans. Drone work. Content strategy.

He was already doing it. He just wasn't doing it for himself.

"Hey, you can do this for a living and honor the Lord with your time schedule."

That thought changed everything.

A Brother in the Business

JeffAnthony didn't build Drone DMC alone. Enter Clint Walker, a brother in Christ from the same local church, and a man with his own story of God redirecting a career.

Clint had spent years as a professional media content coordinator for one of the nation's largest airlines. He understood brand awareness, visual storytelling, and how to align media with a company's vision. Then COVID arrived and, like millions of Americans, Clint found himself part of a workforce reduction.

What could have been a crisis became a calling.

"He found hope and guidance in the Lord," JeffAnthony says. Clint transitioned to freelancing, contracting with the airline and several small businesses and in doing so discovered what his gifts looked like when they were truly free.

When JeffAnthony came to him with the vision for Drone DMC, Clint's experience and his talented eye for storytelling made the partnership a natural fit. Together they could ensure every project told the client's story the right way, with intention, craftsmanship, and purpose.

Working as if for the Lord

Colossians 3:23-24 says: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters... It is the Lord Christ you are serving."

That verse isn't hanging on a wall at Drone DMC. It's woven into how the business operates.

The work schedule JeffAnthony and Clint built together reflects that directly. Shoots are scheduled Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Wednesday is reserved for editing and for mid-week Bible study, making sure neither man is so far out on a job site that he can't be present for what matters most. Fridays are set aside to give back.

It wasn't a compromise. It was a choice; mutual, intentional, and non-negotiable.

"We have a desire to do our work as if we are working directly for the Lord," JeffAnthony says. "That's how we show up for our clients too."

A large portion of Drone DMC's current clients are Christian-run businesses and they feel that shared foundation the moment they work with the team.

Building the Next Generation

Drone DMC was never designed to just be a two-man operation. The long vision is a full Digital Media Company, one that hires young adults from their church, creates internship opportunities for college students, and builds a flight team from the ground up.

JeffAnthony serves as the young adult minister at his church. Clint is equally invested in the people around them. The business isn't separate from that calling. It's an extension of it.

"It's basically an extension of our desire to grow the people around us," he says.

That vision is already taking shape. Both JeffAnthony and Clint have children who are homeschooled and attend the same co-op. Seeing an opportunity, they began teaching a class on drone business fundamentals; covering flight basics, business planning, and FAA Part 107 exam preparation through Pilot Institute's curriculum.

Their first cohort of four students is set to test for their licenses this summer, waiting only for graduations and end-of-year events before sitting for the exam. Some are considering starting their own businesses. Others are eyeing a spot on Drone DMC's flight team.

The industry is young. The opportunity is enormous. And these students are getting a head start most adults never had.

Why It Matters to You as a Client

You might be wondering what any of this has to do with hiring a drone media company for your next project.

Everything.

When you work with Drone DMC, you're working with people who show up like it matters, because to them, it does. Not because a contract says so. Not because a review is on the line. But because they genuinely believe the work they do for you is work they're doing for something greater than themselves.

That means your project gets the same care, creativity, and attention whether you're a Fortune 500 builder or a first-time developer with one tract of land to sell.

It means they answer the phone. Show up on time. Deliver what they promise. And do it with the kind of integrity that's increasingly rare in any industry.

Drone DMC was built on the belief that you can run a successful business, honor your faith, serve your community, and still deliver world-class results. September 11, 2024 was just the beginning.

Drone DMC is a veteran co-owned, FAA Part 107 certified drone media company based in Burleson, Texas. We serve builders, developers, real estate professionals, and businesses across DFW and all of Texas.
